Nagpur: Three members of a family have been booked for duping two people of Rs1.41 lakh on the pretext of providing them jobs at Indian Railways since February 1, 2017. The accused have been identified as Prakash Khandekar, his wife Mandabai and their son Pravesh.
According to cops, Ritesh Shahu, 21, had got in contact with Prakash while working at a mobile shop in city. Prakash told Shahu that he worked at the railways and can provide him a job there. Soon, Shahu and Prakash met several time to discuss the same. Shahu also roped in one of his friend Gokul Prajapati.
Prakash asked the duo to transfer money into his wife’s account and several transactions were made in which around Rs1.41 lakh was given to Prakash. After some days Prakash called both the friends to Mumbai for a medical check-up but sent them back claiming the dates have been postponed. The accused also gave Shahu and his friend appointment letters for job but when the duo tried to confirm the documents, they learnt they were fake, following which they approached Ganeshpeth
Police station and registered a case of
fraud. .
