Irrigation engineers donate a day’s salary

Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao follows suit

Engineers of Irrigation Department have announced that they would contribute one day’s salary to Kerala flood relief fund. Minister for Irrigation T. Harish Rao would also donate a month’s salary to the cause.

Mr. Harish Rao thanked the engineers for donating their one-day salary for the cause and asked his Ministerial colleagues and other public representatives in the State to help the flood victims.

Mr. Rao tweeted: “I will be donating my one month salary towards #KeralaFloodRelief & I’m very thankful to the Irrigation Department Engineers who came forward to donate their one day salary I sincerely appeal to everyone to donate generously for our brothers & sisters in #Kerala (sic).”

The Akashvani and Doordarshan Programme Staff Association announced donation of ₹10,000 as its first tranche of financial aid to Chief Minister’s Relief Fund towards victims of Kerala floods, said national secretary R. Srinivasan. All associations across the country would be contributing to the cause.
