Another food delivery boy dies in road accident

Nagpur: Another Zomato food delivery boy was killed in a road accident while on duty on Saturday night at Hingna Road. Arjun Pawar, a resident of Jaitala, died on the spot after being crushed under the rear wheel of a trailer. He was not wearing helmet.
On August 6, TOI had reported an accident in which a Zomato food-delivery boy, Nilesh Wasnik, was killed by a speeding four-wheeler near a renowned restaurant in Dharampeth. The city’s delivery boys had taken to the streets following the incident.

Eye witness Priyank Lohave said, “The trailer and the biker were turning left when the biker tried to overtake the trailer from the right side and hit it. Arjun fell from the bike and was crushed under the rear wheel of the trailer.”

Sources said that the trailer’s driver tried to flee the spot but was nabbed by passers-by and handed over to the police. There was a traffic jam on Hingna Road following the accident. Coordination of some of the passers-by helped in clearing the traffic.

Arjun’s body was taken to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) by some of the people present on the spot. where post-mortem was conducted on Sunday. MIDC police have registered a case of death due to negligence against the trailer’s driver.
