UP govt to table supplementary budget on Aug 27

The Yogi Adityanath government will table its first supplementary budget for the 2018-19 fiscal on August 27 when the Assembly meets for the week-long monsoon session starting August 23.

As per the agenda of the Assembly approved by the Business Advisory Committee issued in Lucknow on Saturday, the supplementary budget will be tabled on August 27. The government is expected to seek additional budgetary grants of around Rs 35,000 crore. 

In the main budget passed in February this year, the Assembly had approved around Rs 4.28 lakh crore for 2018-19.

The supplementary budget and related appropriation bills will be approved by the House on August 29. 

The Assembly will commence on August 23 when the ordinances will be tabled in the House while the next day has been kept for non-official business.  

On August 23, the Assembly is likely to be adjourned after condoling the death of late Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. 

The brief session will end on August 31, after the passage of several bills replacing the ordinances.
