DMK working president MK Stalin visited late M Karunanidhi’s ancestral house in his native place Thirukkuvalai in Nagapattinam district on Saturday and paid floral tributes to the portrait kept there.

Stalin visited Thirukkuvalai along with Rajya Sabha MP Kanimozhi, and his son Udhayanidhi Stalin, the working president arrived at the village around 12 pm on Saturday. They visited the house where Karunanidhi was born which was turned into a library in memory of the DMK patriarch’s father Muthuvelar.
Former ministers from DMK KN Nehru and K Ponmudi also joined Stalin’s family during the visit.
Stalin, Kanimozhi and others garlanded Karunanidhi’s portrait and the statues of his parents Muthuvelar and Anjugam Ammal. The family and others looked at the pictures and artifacts kept at the house and grew nostalgic about their late father briefly. Security was beefed up in front of Karunanidhi’s ancestral house with police and Special Forces on duty.
