MUMBAI: Actor
Kangana Ranaut has been summoned by the
Khar police for inquiries after a real estate agent complained against her for not paying him part of his brokerage. No FIR has been lodged, police said.
"Based on a complaint submitted by the estate agent, we have summoned Ranaut to the police station for inquiries and for recording her statement. The estate agent has complained that he was paid only partial brokerage in connection with the dealing of a Bandra-based property that he was involved in. He submitted the complaint to us in July," a police officer said.
In a statement released to the media, Ranaut said, "I paid the agency that did the bungalow deal for me 1% in brokerage which comes to Rs 22 lakh. Their dues have been paid many months ago. The said person (complainant) is one of the brokers who offered this deal to me. My finance team never dealt with him directly but now he is harassing us for Rs 22 lakh more. He is claiming 2% of the transaction made from my end, which was never promised to him before or after the deal. This doesn't make sense and we have made it clear to the cops as well. We have all the evidence."
