GREATER NOIDA: Residents of
Greater Noida complain Authority apathy at Savitri Bai Phule Balika Inter College where overgrown grass, an unkempt auditorium, termite writ hostel, open wires and all round neglect has led to difficulties for students studying at the premises. Residents have also complained to the chief minister on the matter.
“The school which was founded in 2009 with a capacity of about 600 students does not have properly working CCTV cameras, cupboards in the hostel are termite infested and the auditorium faces overhead leakage every time it rains. While officials of Greater Noida authority are merely filling up files showing work done on paper, ground reality is otherwise. The school, though built just a few years ago, seems like a ghost building with this rampant neglect,” said Harinder Bhati, RWA general secretary Sector Beta 1 Greater Noida.
Bhati goes on “while grass on the campus is as big as the jungles of Savanah, the building looks like a war ravaged film set or ghost building. While the school has complained numerous times on the its deplorable condition, officials in authority have not bothered to take note of it yet,” said Bhati who rues how the government which propagates education of girl child is so negligent towards the same cause and has written to the chief minister on the matter.
“I aim to provide the best for my child but if this is what we get in an urban city like Greater Noida, then we have no hope for the future,” said Seema Singh, a local resident.
Greater Noida authority officials N K Jain, senior manager as well as A K Arora general manager who have been apprised of the situation, have however assured to look into the matter. “Work on trimming the grass is underway. All other necessary issues are also being addressed,” they said.
