Lifeguards rescue teen at Dadar chowpatty

The city’s Disaster Response Force saved a 16-year-old boy from drowning at 6.30 p.m. on Friday. Omkar Chavan, a resident of Mahim Koliwada, was playing on Dadar Chowpatty and entered the sea to retrieve a football. Officials said that the tide was high and he was unable to come out of the water. “When he cried for help, alert lifeguards rescued him and informed the police,” Kailas Chavan, senior police inspector, Mahim police station, said.

According to the BMC officials Prashant Jagtap, Ramdas Nagargoje, Sardar Gopal , Manoj Patil and Shrinandan Fad from the CDRF rescued the boy. The boy was brought to Mahim police station and his parents were informed.
