Bugatti Divo Shows Radically-Different Silhouette

Bugatti has dropped a new teaser of the upcoming Divo hypercar and it exemplifies just how different the car will look from an ordinary Chiron.

This particular image offers a look at the hypercar from the side, covered only be a thin layer of cloth that offers us a near-unimpeded view of the silhouette.

As had long been expected, it seems apparent that the Bugatti Divo will take very obvious design inspiration from the Vision Gran Turismo Concept, shown to the world before even the road-going Chiron was unveiled.

Key features visible include a massive fixed rear wing, aggressive wheel arches, prominent fins on the side skirts and a bold body line running from the front wheel arch through to the B-pillar. It also appears as if a shark fin, just like the one featured on the Vision Gran Turismo, stretches from the roof to the rear wing.

Specifications for the Divo remain unclear but we know it will be far more focused on handling and downforce than the run-of-the-mill Chiron. Additionally, Bugatti has worked hard to ensure the vehicle is lighter than other models to come before it, all in an attempt to make it that much more nimble.

According to a report six weeks ago, the French manufacturer will pair the 8.0-liter quad-turbo W16 engine with a bespoke motorsports-derived gearbox to improve acceleration. Consequently, the Divo should hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in well under 2.5 seconds and 200 km/h (124 mph) in roughly 6.5 seconds.

Production will be limited to just 40 units, each priced at €5 million ($5.88 million). The car will premiere on August 24 at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.
