The 72nd Independence Day was observed all over the Madhya Pradesh with a festive mood. The state level function was held at the Lal Parade Ground in the capital. The Chief Minister Mr.Shivraj Singh Chouhan unfurled the Tricolor and took salute at March past presented in the 18 contingents of Police, Armed Police and NCC.
He gave 59 police personnel with police medals for exemplanary services. On the occasion he said the safety and security of every citizen is the prime concern of the state.
He launched “Dial 100 Police App” for emergency situations. In it as soon as police receive the call through dial 100 application, the Madhya Pradesh police will reach the location as soon as possible. It is one more step towards providing safety to the people.
The Chief Minister said the modern technology has played a magic role for arresting rapist quickly. The state was first in India to enact a law with provision of death penalty for sexually violating a minor child. In the state so far death sentence were given in 10 rape cases in the state.
The Union Home Minister Mr.Rajnath Singh asked other states to follow Madhya Pradesh in making law providing death penalty to a child rapist.
The Governor Mrs.Anandi Ben Patel said due to modern technology there is spurt in cyber crimes. The police must have ultra modern technology to deal with such crimes.
