Imran Khan to take oath as Pakistan's Prime Minister

Imran Khan will take the oath as Pakistan's Prime Minister on August 18. Khan's party Pakistan Tehreek e insaaf (PTI) has emerged as the single largest party, with 116 seats out of 342 seats in recently held general elections. Party spokesperson Faisal Javed said that ceremony will be held at the president's house and President Mamnoon Hussain will administer the oath. He said that the ceremony will be kept simple. On Friday newly elected National Assembly met to elect Prime Minister as PMLN chief Shabaz Sharif filed nomination for the top slot along with Imran Khan. If Imran forms a government, then it will be the third consecutive elected government in Pakistan.
