IIME to hold int’l seminar on Mineral Processing Tech

Indian Institute of Mineral Engineering (IIME), a 50-year-old professional body serving Mining & Mineral industry will hold an international seminar on Mineral Processing Technology this year at Dhanbad, a NMDC Ltd press release informed on Thursday.

To discuss the future plans and to know the status of arrangements of this event, a meeting of IIME’s executive committee was held in Hyderabad recently.

Dr N K Nanda, Director (Technical), NMDC Ltd and President, IIME Hyderabad chapter welcomed all the committee members on the occasion.

In his address, he emphasized the need for enrichment of minerals and told that Mineral beneficiation in future is compulsory.

Dr Nanda also told that IIME will start a technical journal consisting of latest research in beneficiation of minerals.

Prof. R. Venugopal, Fuel & Mineral Engineering, IIT Dhanbad and chairperson of the international conference told the committee members that around 500 delegates from all over the world will attend this international conference.

More than 250 abstracts have been received and also some full manuscripts were already received.

Prof. D.D. Mishra, Chairman, IIT-Dhanbad, Prof. B. K. Mishra, Director, IIT-Goa, Prof. Rajeev Shekhar, Director, IIT-Dhanbad and Prof. T.C. Rao, Former Director, RRL-Bhopal were also present.

Senior scientists from national laboratories, Equipment manufacturers along with IIME Hyderabad Executive Council and life members attended the meeting. Vote of thanks of the Executive Committee meeting was presented by G.V. Rao, Secretary, IIME-Hyderabad Chapter.
