Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala on Friday night to review the flood situation in the state. Floods and landslides in Kerala due to torrential rains had created havoc in the state, claiming lives of over 324 people in the past one week. After an overnight stay at Kochi, the Prime Minister will undertake an aerial survey of the flood affected areas on Saturday. He was received by Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Kerala Governor P Sathasivam and Union Tourism Minister KJ Alphons. PM Modi had arrived Kerala after attending funeral of Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee who breathed his last breath on August 16.
