Flood in Kerela: No community celebrations on Onam in Indore

Indore: Looking at the vast destruction caused by floods in Kerala, Onam celebrations will not be held at community level. Indore Keraleeya Samajam (IKS) president Joseph Thomas said no community-level functions will be organised on Onam festival, which falls on August 25.

The money spent on community-level function will be used to provide relief goods to flood victims in Kerela. Thomas said IndiGo airline will airlift the goods to Kerela for free.  Indore Nair Service Society (INSS), Shyam Nagar Malayalee Association (SAMA), Shree Narayana Dharma Prasthanam (SNDP), Aiyappa Temple and United Malayalee Association (UMA) will also collect funds, which will be given to Kerala Chief Minister disaster fund.

Thomas said people interested in helping the flood victims can also contribute to Indore Keraleeya Samajam Welfare Account by transferring the amount in Federal Bank account number 12340100026679 and IFSC Code FDRL0001234, a press release issued on Friday stated.
