Lucknow, Bharatiya Janata Party government in Uttar Pradesh is planning to construct memorials in the memory of veteran BJP leader and former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, sources said on Saturday.
The government was preparing a proposal to construct memorials in Bateshwar, the native place of Vajpayee, in Kanpur where he did his studies, Balrampur where he contested for Lok Sabha for the first time and in Lucknow, his parliamentary constituency.
On Thursday, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced immersion of Vajpayee’s ashes in all the major rivers of the state.
Menawhile, BJP vice-president J P S Rathore, said here that the aura of former PM was go big that anything named on him would be too small.
The BJP women wing will now organise ‘kavi sammelan’ as a Shrandajali sabha for the former PM.
Vajpayee (93), the three-time prime minister and only non-Congress PM to complete full term, passed away on Thursday at AIIMS-New Delhi, after suffering from prolonged age-related illeness.
