Collector visits polling booths in Tarana constituency


Ujjain : Collector and District Electoral Officer Manish Singh visited urban and rural areas of Tarana assembly constituency on Saturday. He inspected electoral list work at polling booths in the constituency.

Manish Singh suspended three booth-level officers of booth number 140 and 142 on complaints of local residents. Residents complained that as officers were not present at the booths, the supervisiors were not working sincerely. The residents were forced to visit polling booths repeatedly to get themselves registered. After hearing the complaints Manish Singh suspended booth level officer Neeraj Chouhan, Kavita Sharma and Rafiq Khan with immediate effect along with supervisor Mahesh Sharma who is also posted as accountant in Nagar Palika, Tarana.

Manish Singh said that four voter facilitation centres will be opened in Tarana constituency in which VVPAT machines will also be put for demonstrations for the general public so that citizens can understand its functioning. He also said that newly married girls will be added in the electoral list without any documents and asked supervisors to speed up registration process. Zila panchayat CEO Sandeep GR, Women and Child Development department’s district coordinator BL Pasi and women empowerment officer Sabir Ahamad Siddiqui were also present during the visit.
