Bhopal: Leaders gather at BJP office with tearful eyes

Bhopal: The funeral procession of former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee was live telecast in BJP office on Friday. The BJP leaders bid adieu to their leader with tearful eyes. Several leaders including BJP state vice president Vijesh Lunawat, former minister Jagdish Devda and communication chief Lokendra Parashar remembered Vajpayee.

Jan Ashirwaad Yatra, taken out keeping in view the assembly polls, has also been postponed by August 22 on account of state mourning. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had a three-day tour during the yatra this week. A tribute-paying programme will also be held in Gwalior, the birthplace of Vajpayee.

The state government is mulling over ways to remember Vajpayee. Bharatiya Janata Party is also thinking of conducting programmes across the state in Vajpayee’s memory.  A ‘kalash yatra’ in his memory is also under consideration. The state already has Atal Bihari Vajpayee School of Good Governance. A new institute may be established in his memory.
