The state government has decided to undertake various projects in Bateshwar, former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s ancestral village, Balrampur, his first Lok Sabha constituency and Lucknow, his political ‘karmabhoomi’ to preserve his memories.

Chief minister Yogi Adityanath has already declared seven-day mourning in the state, as well.

UP BJP spokesman Chandramohan said the government has also decided to immerse Vajpayee’s ashes in all the rivers of UP districts.

Lucknow BJP chief Mukesh Sharma said, a big ‘shraddhanjali sabha’ or a condolence meeting would be held in Lucknow on Tuesday, August 21. All top BJP leaders, including union home minister Rajnath Singh, would be present at the meeting in which Vajpayee’s relatives, too, could be present, he said.
