Vadodara: Heavy rains lash Chhota Udepur, two die

VADODARA: Two persons died in Chhota Udepur after heavy rains lashed the district early on Friday morning. A 10-year-old girl identified as Jigli Rathwa died after a wall of her house gave away in Moti Sadhli village. Another resident of Kawant talkuka, Shankar Rathwa, 50 too died after rains led to wall collapse at his house. Chhota Udepur district received five inches of rains between 12 am and 6 am on Friday. The district received another four inches throughout the day on Friday.

Vadodara city too witnessed heavy rainfall on Friday morning. The city received 40 mm of rains between 6 am and 6 pm on Friday while Karjan and Dabhoi received 61 and 79 mm rains in the same period. Water level in Orsang River in Dabhoi have swelled in last 24 hours. District authorities said that heavy to very heavy rains have been predicted in the next 24 hours.
