Donald Trump’s military parade ‘postponed’ to 2019
Expected cost of the parade has blown out by $80 million

A US military parade requested by Donald Trump has been put on hold until at least 2019, amid reports of a massive budget blowout.
The event was “originally scheduled to occur the day before Veterans Day but has now been moved to an unknown date in 2019”, Fox News reports.
“We originally targeted November 10, 2018 for this event but have now agreed to explore opportunities in 2019,” defence department spokesman, Colonel Rob Manning, said in a statement.
The cost of the parade has significantly increased from early estimates of $12 million, up to $92 million that consists of “$50 million from the Pentagon and $42 million from interagency partners such as the Department of Homeland Security”, CNBC says.
Newsweek reports that for the cost of the postponed parade, “every homeless veteran in the country could be fed three meals per day for almost nine months.”
