Schools in Doon celebrate I-Day with fervour

Independence Day was celebrated in various schools and organisations in Dehradun on Wednesday. At the Pine Hall School the principal Rama Anand hoisted the national flag. She paid homage to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for freedom and advised the students to become the ideal citizens of the country. The students shared their views on the significance of the day and awakened everyone’s feeling towards motherland.

At the Doon Cambridge School, the principal HK Chhabra unfurled the Tricolour.

In her speech, she reminded the students and the teachers of the sacrifices made by  freedom fighters and made everyone to take responsibility to serve the motherland with heart, body and soul. In the Heritage School, office superintendent PS Chauhan, head girl Aanchal Sharma and head boy Ritik Gusain hoisted the national flag. The school president Avadhesh Chaudhary, principal B Gill, entire school staff and employees and the students were present on this occasion.

At the Delhi Public School, the occasion was celebrated with fervor. After the hoisting of the national flag, the students presented patriotic songs and other performances.

The director of MP Singh Foundation, Vatsala Singh addressed the gathering, appealing to their nationalistic spirit and urged them to take pride in being Indian.
