Jamieson, Waring share the lead in Sweden

Cape Town - Scott Jamieson and Paul Waring share the lead at the end of round two at the Nordea Masters after both players produced impressive on Friday finishes at Hills Golf Club.

Scotsman Jamieson's round of 65 was rounded off by three consecutive birdies as he set the target at 11-under par, and he was joined by Englishman Waring, who birdied four of his last seven holes to record a 63 and the lowest round of the day.

"Obviously I'm made up to be as high up the leaderboard as I am. I felt like I took a few of my chances out there, which was nice today. There were a couple of loose shots, but that's golf and they weren't too costly, so all in all a good day," said Waring.

"I'll just take it as it comes tomorrow, you never know with the weather forecast. I'll just try to keep doing what I've been doing and see where it takes me," said Jamieson.

None of the morning starters could get past overnight leader Clément Sordet of France and while the four-time Challenge Tour winner made a birdie on the 11th to lead by two, that would be his only gain of the day.

An intriguing battle then took place with South African Thomas Aiken, England's Lee Slattery, Waring and Jamieson all in a four-way tie at ten-under par before the latter pair broke out of the pack.

"I just need to keep doing what I'm doing, keep the concentration levels up and hopefully we'll be in a good position going into the last nine on Sunday," said the South African.

Aiken is the nearest challenger to the leading pair at nine under par, two shots clear of Slattery, Scotsman Bradley Neil, and American Hunter Stewart.

Danish pair Thorbjørn Olesen and Søren Kjeldsen, two-time Major winner Martin Kaymer of Germany, Australians Adam Bland and Lucas Herbert, and French duo Sordet and Benjamin Hebert are all five shots off the lead at six-under par.
