24 Delhi Police officials scoop Prez’s medal for meritorious services

President of India has conferred 24 men and officers of Delhi Police with President's Police Medals for Meritorious and Distinguished Service. Five police officers of the Special Cell the anti-terrorist wing of Delhi Police - Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Sanjeev Kumar Yadav and his team comprising ACPs Lalit Mohan Negi, Hridaya Bhushan, Ramesh Chander Lamba and Sub-Inspector Sukbir Singh have been awarded Police Medals for Gallantry.

Special Commissioner of Police, Delhi Crime Branch Satish Golchha, a 1992 batch Indian Police Services (IPS) has been conferred President's Police medal for 'Distinguished Service”. ACPs Rajender Singh Yadav and ACP Sandeep Pali were too awarded with the President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service.

Golchha, qualified as a chartered accountant in 1988 from ICAI and completed Bachelor of Law (LLB) in 1991 from South Gujarat University. He has served in various capacities in Delhi, Dadra and Nagar Haveli Police, Daman Police, Goa Police, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Andaman and Nicobar Police and the Economic Offences Wing.

Rajendra Singh Yadav has been involved in investigating number of high-profile cases like the Nirbhaya gangrape, Saumaya and Jigisha Ghosh murder case, Sunanda Pushkar death case, Ponty Chadha murder case and also Deepak Bhardwaj murder case.         

Apart from this, Additional Commissioner of Police, Delhi Amarendra Kumar Singh, Additional DCP Rajendra Sagar, ACP Birjender Singh Rai, ACP Sanjay Dutt, Inspector Vijay Kumar Singh, Inspector Survesh Kumar, Sub-Inspector Moti Lal, Assistant Sub Inspector Ram Kishan, Head Constable (HC) Rajneesh Tyagi, HC Rambir Singh, HC Jai Bhagwan, HC Gajender Singh including four women cops SI Anita Kalia, SI Nirmal Kumari, ASI Rajni Malik and HC Anju Sandhya Minj were awarded Police Medal for Meritorious Service.

DCP Sanjeev Yadav and his team in 2013 have risked their life and killed a wanted gangster Neetu Dabhodia in an encounter in 2013. Two of Dabodia's aides were also killed in the encounter that took place near a hotel in Vasant Kunj area of south Delhi. The brave action of Delhi Police won applause not only from the highest ranks of Police of different states but also from the Public at large.
