Airtel, Reliance Jio announce 'relief package' for Kerala flood victims

With the flood situation in Kerala worsening, telecom companies Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio have announced measures to provide relief to their people in Kerala. Along with mobile data and free call benefits, Airtel has also announced that smartphone users in the state can charge their phone's batteries of the smartphone at Airtel stores in the state.

Reliance Jio's offer for people in Kerala: Reliance Jio has announced a complimentary unlimited voice and data pack for its users in the region with a validity of 7 days.

Airtel's relief package for people in Kerala:

* Auto approval of ‘Talk Time’ credit of up to Rs 30 for all Airtel prepaid mobile users: If you run out of mobile balance, Airtel will automatically add Rs 30 in their prepaid account.

* Free 1 GB mobile data for all Airtel prepaid smartphone users: Airtel is offering free 1GB mobile data which is valid for seven days for all prepaid users.

* Extension of bill payment dates for all Airtel postpaid and home broadband customers: To ensure postpaid users have uninterrupted access to services, Airtel has extended bill payment dates.

* Free Wi-Fi hotspot: Airtel will deploy VSAT at five major relief centers in Kerala to provide free wi-fi & calling facility to people.

Citizens can also charge the batteries of their mobile phones and make free calls to their loved ones from select Airtel flagship stores located in Thrissur, Calicut, Malappuram, Kannur, Kottayam, Trivandrum and Ernakulam.
