NEW DELHI: Equity benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty lost half a per cent each on Thursday as global cues turned volatile.
The 30-share BSE Sensex lost 188.44 points to close at 37,663.56 while the broader 50-share NSE Nifty closed under 11,400-mark, slipping more than 50 points in the day's trading.

The global cues were mixed on Thursday as investors were wary on Turkish economic woes while in some quarters there was cheer on back of reports of US and China deciding to hold talks to cool trade conflict.

IT and pharma sub-indices finished in the red.
