In a goodwill gesture, London's Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) hands over a 12th century Lord Buddha statue stolen in 1961 to India. The MPS cops returned the Lord Buddha statue on the occasion of India’s 72nd Independence Day. The bronze statue was stolen 57 years ago from India. The Lord Buddha statue was one of the 14 statues that were stolen from Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) museum in Nalanda. YK Sinha, Indian High Commissioner to UK, thanked London's Metropolitan Police Service for their gesture.
