This Is A 2011 Tramontana R – And It Goes For More Than Half A Million Bucks

If you drive a Lamborghini, you’ll definitely stand out from the crowd. Heck, even a Porsche Boxster will turn heads in quite a few places. However, nothing will make people stare at you like a Tramontana R.

The Spanish sports car has always been considered rather strange since premiering more than a decade ago. Mystery surrounds the company and how many examples of its sole model have been built, sold, or delivered. What we do know is that this example, an ‘R’ model, is looking for a new home.

Listed for sale from German dealership Premium Automotive Concept Esser on James Edition, this is a 2011 model with 4,950 km (3,076 miles) under its belt. For a seven-year old vehicle, that mileage is nothing.

The Tramontana R, like other variants, is powered by a biturbo V12 from Mercedes-AMG that offers up 720 hp. Ensuring that the vehicle is especially brisk is the fact that it weighs just a touch over 2,866 lbs (1,300 kg) and utilizes a semi-automatic transmission.

Nevertheless, it’s not the specs but the design that makes the Tramontana stand out. The car has an open-wheeled design and seats two passengers in tandem in what looks like a jet fighter-inspired cockpit.

Few changes have been made to the Tramontana’s design over the past decade. Whether that’s because of a lack of demand for the vehicle or a lack of resources on Tramontana’s part, it remains unclear. In any case, though, it still looks like nothing else on the streets.

All this comes at a price, though: 499,000 euros ($569,000), to be exact, which puts it firmly into supercar territory. And while it may have the performance to back this up, its pedigree can’t compare with others in this class.
