GURUGRAM: Police on Thursday night raided a spa, Beauty Of Spa, at
MGF Megacity Mall and arrested five people, including three women, for their alleged role in the
sex trade as part of a crackdown that began in July with bars operating in malls on
MG Road.
According to police, they received a tip-off that a sex trade racket was being run from a spa in Megacity Mall under the garb of a massage parlour. “A decoy customer was sent to the spa and after getting his confirmation that the racket was being run from there, a team raided the spot and arrested five people, including three women,” an officer said.
Police arrested Nazra alias Mehak, a resident of Tuglakabad in Delhi, Margresh alias Jainny, a resident of Vasant Kunj in New Delhi, Khushi, a resident of Mirzapur in UP, Ankit and Keshav, both residents of Gurugram.
Spokesperson of Gurugram police, Subahsh Bokan, said, “Six people, including the spa owner, have been booked under sections of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act. The spa owner is absconding but we will soon arrest him.”
Earlier on July 19, police had raided Ion Club at JMD Regent Arcade Mall and arrested four people, including two nightclub dancers, for their alleged role in the sex trade.
On July 4, seven people, including owners of Phantom Club and Ignite Club, were arrested from two malls —
Sahara Mall and MGF Mall — on MG Road for their alleged involvement in the sex trade during another midnight raid.
