A fishing boat with seven fishermen on board that left Kakinada on August 7 is suspected to be missing in the Bay of Bengal.
Though the boat was scheduled to return on August 11, family members of the fishermen did not receive any communication. Panicked by the development, the families lead by the boat owner Mosa Pethuru from Dummulapeta brought the issue to the notice of Collector Kartikeya Misra on Wednesday.
The Collector, in turn, passed on the information to the Coast Guard personnel and asked them to commence a search operations. A message has been sent to all the Coast Guard stations and a search is on.
