OnePlus 6 receives Android Pie Beta with HydrogenOS

NEW DELHI: If you are a OnePlus 6 user then here’s some good news for you. According to a report, Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus has finally started rolling out Open Beta program for its flagship smartphone OnePlus 6.
As per a report in XDA Developers Forum, the company has started rolling out the latest own Open Beta program running on Google's upcoming OS Android 9.0 Pie. However, presently it the Beta is available only to its users in China on HydrogenOS. The HydrogenOS is quite similar to company’s global software implementation software OxygenOS. The major difference between the two is the absence of Google services.
The HydrogenOS comes with China specifica apps and services with no Google apps.
It is also expected that the company may soon bring the Open Beta program for its OxygenOS OnePlus 6 users as well. After the Open Beta the company will begin the roll out of stable version of Android Pie via an OTA update.
For those unaware, OnePlus 6 was launched in India in May this year. The smartphone comes with a starting price tag of Rs 34,999 and is exclusively available on Amazon. This is first smartphone of the company to come with an iPhone X-like screen notch. The device comes with a 6.28-inch FHD+ Optic AMOLED screen with 19:9 aspect ratio.
The handset runs Android 8.1 Oreo operating system and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. It comes with 6GB/8GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB internal storage. The users can further expand the storage by adding a microSD card.
The OnePlus 6 sports a dual rear camera setup with 16MP primary camera with f/1.7 aperture and 20MP secondary camera with Sony IM376K sensors. The front of the smartphone consists of a 16MP camera with Sony IMX371 sensor for selfies.
