Lees River bridge road repairs begin Sunday in Somerset

SOMERSET – Overnight repairs to the bridge carrying Lees River Avenue over Interstate 195 will begin this Sunday, Aug. 19, and continue through September, according to the Massachusetts Department of Transportation.

The bridge repair work is scheduled to take place during overnight hours, from 8 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., from Sunday to Friday each week.

Traffic management will consist of various lane and shoulder closures. Lane closures will be in place from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m., with one lane of travel maintained at all times.

MassDOT encourages drivers to reduce speed and use caution, and allow for extra time throughout this area. All work is weather dependent and is subject to change without notice, transportation officials said.
