Uber on a hiring spree in Singapore

Uber to enter into the market of Singapore after suppression from Southeast Asia and plans to double its workforce.

U.S based company Uber known for its ridesharing is planning to double the manpower in Singapore and currently is in the middle of recruitment. With the expansion in Asia, its headquarters still remains to be Asia Pacific region.


Uber's job opening list 19 roles for Singapore, but the company has taken 75 vacancies for headhunting and recruitment to help the firms. The sources claimed that Uber's new hires will take headcount in Singapore to over 100 employees. 


Uber has sold its Southeast Asia based business to rival Grab in March after switching Uber got 27.5% stake in Dara Khosrowshahi which is a Singapore based company and Uber CEO to join Grab's board.


Earlier it was stated that the original plan after the Grab deal for Uber was to shift its regional headquarters to either Japan or Hong Kong, but now the place has been changed. Now the scenario for Singapore based employees is now to search for services like  HR, accounting, admin, marketing and PR across Uber APAC, which includes Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Australia, and India.
