Cooperation of all necessary to achieve target: Ramsheela Sahu

State of Chhattisgarh is moving faster from malnutrition to normal. But on the path, to achieve the target cooperation of all is required, said women and child development minister Ramsheela Sahu. She was addressing the inaugural session one day workshop on ‘Nutrition Drive’ organised at Raipur on Tuesday.

It is necessary the mother and child remain free from malnutrition for a healthy society and country which will also help in building a healthy nation, said Sahu. So, there is a need to take care of mother and child. Each person of the family and society should remain alert. Government is vigilant over the issue and to eradicate malnutrition from state, several important activities are being undertaken in form of special drives, minister said.

The main aim of ‘Poshan Abhiyaan’ is to make the new born to six years age group children along with adolescent girls, pregnant women and lactating mothers healthy. Minister said that anganbadi workers, mitatins and women health workers (A.N.M) have to play key roles. Through mobile phone the monitoring of the anganbadis are being done, she added.

Panchayat and rural development minister Ajay Chandrakar mentioning the different geographical and social status called upon the panchayat representatives along with other people’s active role in eliminating malnutrition from state. It should be people’s movement to maintain continuity. He said that with efforts of state government, cooperation from common man, within a year around 15 percent reduction was recorded. It is the reason that ‘Weight Festival’ (Vajan Tihar) is being organised and institutional delivery is being promoted.
