Murder accused sent to prison

AMBALA: Crime branch II team here presented murder accused Vikas, alias Vicky, of Pichokra village in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh before a court, which sent him to Central Jail Ambala. Vikas is accused of murdering Randhir Singh, a resident of Mahuwa Kheri in the district. In his four-day police remand, cops said, he disclosed material information about his accomplices.

"Today after the completion of his remand, Vikas has been sent to Central Jail Ambala as per the orders of a court. During the interrogation, Vikas disclosed material information about his accomplices," said investigation officer Shamsher Singh.

"Vikas also revealed the location of his weapons, following which they were seized from a rented apartment in Sohna, Gurugram on August 12. He told that the weapons were supplied to him by his accomplice Akhshay of Baghpat in Uttar Pradesh," Shamsher added.

The cops said that the murder accused had also disclosed important information about the locations of his other accomplices, who were wanted in different cases across Haryana and Uttar Pradesh (UP).

"Vikas confessed his involvement in Muzaffarpur riots. The information about the same is being shared with Uttar Pradesh police. So far, the district police have been successful in investigations," the cop said.
