The Border Security Force jawans and Pakistani Rangers carried out their routine exchanges amid cheering spectators on both sides of the border and a spirit of patriotism and nationalism. Earlier, BSF jawans exchanged sweets with Pakistani Rangers to mark India’s 72nd Independence Day. Beating Retreat ceremony at Wagah-Attari Border on Independence Day is quite popular among visitors on both sides. The ceremony marks a century-old military tradition, which can be traced back to early 1950s.
