London - England rugby union player Danny Cipriani has been charged by authorities in the English Channel island of Jersey over an incident at a nightclub.
The flyhalf's club side, Gloucester, says the incident happened in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
The team statement says Cipriani was arrested and is due to appear at Jersey Magistrates Court on Thursday morning, but did not provide details of the incident.
Cipriani made a return to the England side against the Springboks in the third Test of tour of South Africa in June where he played a starring role in a 25-10 victory as England lost the series, 2-1.
