Shares of General Electric Co. GE, -1.05% shed 1.1% in midday trade Tuesday, putting them on track to suffer a sixth-straight decline toward a nine-year low. That would mark the third losing streak of at least six sessions so far this year, the longest being the seven-session stretch ending June 21. The stock has lost 7.1% during its current streak, and 11% since it reported second-quarter results before the July 20th open. It was down as much as 3.3% at an intraday low of $11.94, the lowest price seen during regular-session hours since July 24, 2009, before paring some losses. The stock has tumbled 30% year to date, while the SPDR Industrial Select Sector ETF XLI, -0.48% has slipped 1.3% and the Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, -0.54% has gained 1.5%.
