Sara Ali Khan has still a few months to go before her big movie debut, but strategies are already in place to introduce her to general audiences. The future actor made her Instagram debut on Wednesday, Independence Day, with a suitably patriotic post.

Sara shared a picture of the words to the national anthem, beside an image of Rabindranath Tagore, the man who wrote it, and whom she is a direct descendant of. She captioned the image, “Happy Independence Day,” and added the hashtags, “#ProudToBeIndian” and “#MeraBharatMahan.”

Happy Independence Day 🇮🇳 🧡💙💚#merabharatmahan #proudtobeindian

Sara started her account on Tuesday, and quickly attracted attention when her Bollywood contemporaries such as Alia Bhatt and Harshvardhan Kapoor followed her. Her display picture is a black and white portrait of her.

Sara turned 23 on Sunday, and celebrated her birthday with friends and family. She was spotted in a car with her brother Ibrahim on her birthday night in Mumbai. She wore a beige kurta and big, ethnic hoop earrings to go with it. Also seen at the party were mum Amrita Singh and actor Bhumi Pednekar.

She will make her debut with Kedarnath, the troubled film by Abhishek Kapoor, also starring Sushant Singh Rajput. She will also be seen opposite Ranveer Singh in Rohit Shetty’s Simmba.
