NDA has ruined 15 years of reforms: Rahul Gandhi
Congress president Rahul Gandhi has said his party was not against any large corporate houses when it was criticising large bailouts but it was only against the crony capitalists around PM Narendra Modi who were benefitting through political relationships.
Addressing Editors’ Conference in Hyderabad on Tuesday, Gandhi said the National Democratic Alliance government under the l e a d e r s h i p o f Narendra Modi has ruined the 15 years of Congress government initiated economic reforms from 1991-2014 with thoughtless Demonetisation, GST and NPA crisis.
Airing serious concerns over the deteriorating economy, he said the non-performing assets (NPAs) of the Indian banking system have reached an alarming high of Rs 12 lakh crore over last four years from Rs 2.5 lakh crore when Congress was in power.
Gandhi said Congress, if voted to power, will look at revamping the GST system to make it more simplified for SMEs.
