Adopt abandoned cows: CM Yogi Adityanath tells seers

AYODHYA: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath has asked seers and mahants of Ayodhya to adopt at least five to 10 cows, bulls.
Addressing a gathering after inaugurating a private cow shelter in Ayodhya on Tuesday, Yogi said that abandoned cows roaming in Ayodhya are in poor condition and it is the responsibility of saints to take care of them.

Yogi said, "Our government banned illegal slaughter houses after coming to power. A large number of cows and bulls can be seen roaming on roads. The government has given money to district administrations for setting up cow shelters but it is not just the responsibility of government, public cooperation is also necessary. "

Yogi also attended an event at Digambar Akhara temple to mark the 15th death anniversary of Ram Mandir movement leader Ramchandra Das Paramhans.

Meanwhile, police arrested Hindu Samaj Party president Kamlesh Tiwari for trying to breach the security and enter the makeshift temple at the disputed site in Ayodhya. On being stopped they sat on dharna on the road.

Faizabad SP Anil Sisodia said a group of activists was trying to enter the disputed site. A dozen of them were arrested.
