Ten live bombs were recovered from a house near border with Bangladesh in Tripura on Tuesday morning. Police said they had arrested a suspect in connection with the seizures amid stiff security measures ahead of Independence Day.
Acting on a tip-off police raided house of Aktar Hussain at Sobhapur village in Sonamura, 45km south of Agartala. During the earch they found 10 live bombs.
“We have arrested Aktar Hussain. We are now carrying out investigation into the matter”, Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Rajdeep Deb told newsmen.
Police said similar intelligence support based raids were being conducted in other parts in Tripura. Security across the State and along its 856-km border with Bangladesh had been tightened in compliance with advisory of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
