Won't spare people guilty of corrupt practices: Manipur CM

N Singh today assured people that his government will strive hard to bring about development by fighting corruption and creating employment opportunities for the youth.

"Of the 535 corruption complaints in the past few months, the has initiated action in 310 cases. Around 33 erring officials have been taken to task for graft," he said after unfurling the Tricolour at Rifles Ground here.

Talking about the ongoing University impasse, the CM said the matter was likely to be resolved in 2-3 days.

"An of the arrived in the state yesterday and held meetings with the members of students union and teachers' association, who have been demanding Vice Chancellor AP Pandey's removal over allegations of irregularities. The possibility of finding a solution to the impasse in 2-3 days is at 99.9%," he said.

Singh also said that the recently inaugurated Startup Conclave in Manipur would provide a platform to the budding entrepreneurs.

"The conclave aims to harness innovative ideas and talents of potential entrepreneurs. The will dole out 30% grant to the selected candidates. The rest will be provided as loan by a nationalized bank," he explained.

Hailing the BJP-led central government's foreign policies on this occasion, the CM said the northeastern region and the country as a whole has witnessed economic growth because of Narendra Modi's efforts in strengthening ties with the neighbouring countries.

He also lauded the PM for addressing the issue of "Pakistan-based terrorism on global platform".

Altogether 58 contingents, including personnel of armed forces of and Mahila Battalion of IRB, took part in the parade here this morning.

The CM decorated seven police officers with medals on this occasion for their distinguished services.
