Several parts of Tamil Nadu to get rain on Thursday

CHENNAI: The Regional Meteorological Centre here on Wednesday evening forecast that light to moderate rain or thundershower is likely to occur in many places in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry in the next 24 hours.
Isolated extremely heavy rain is forecast in in the Nilgris and the ghat areas of Theni, Dindigul, Coimbatore and Tirunelveli districts while isolated heavy rain is forecast in Kanyakumari district.

Several parts Tirunelveli, Kanyakumari and Tuticorin received rain on Wednesday. Kanyakumari district collector declared a holiday for schools and colleges in the district on Thursday due to heavy rain.

In Chennai, the sky will remain overcast and the city is expected to get light rain in the next two days.

"The sky condition is likely to be generally cloudy in Chennai in the next 24 hours. A few spells of light to moderate rain or thundershower are likely to occur in some areas. Maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 32 degrees Celsius and 26 degrees Celsius, respectively," the RMC said.
