Liverpool are gearing up for another onslaught on the Champions League.
Hopes are high of repeating last season’s success, in which the Reds reached the final before coming unstuck against perennial European kings Real Madrid in the Kiev showpiece.
The draw for this season’s Champions League group stage takes place at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco on Thursday, August 30 - and Liverpool will be straight in the hat.
Despite reaching the final last term, the Reds currently sit in pot three, alongside the likes of Dynamo Kiev, Schalke, Lyon, Monaco and PSV Eindhoven.
Jurgen Klopp’s side reached the final last season despite being in pot three at the start of the campaign, but they could face a tricky draw should they remain where they are.
The Reds are the highest seeds currently in pot three and will move up should Benfica lose to Greek side PAOK in the third qualifying round.
As a best-case scenario, they could meet Lokomotiv Moscow, Salzburg and Viktoria Plzen as second seeds, or perhaps Lokomotiv, Porto and Plzen as third seeds.

As a worst-case scenario, the Reds may have to contend with Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund and Inter Milan if they were third seeds, with Barcelona, Schalke and Inter looking tough as second seeds.
