Indore: Department of Higher Education (DHE) has released final merit list of students seeking admissions in BEd colleges. The merit list consists of 59051 students against 30252 seats lying vacant in BEd colleges across the state.
“BEd admission process was of three rounds. The first two rounds of online counselling filled 23048 out of 53300 seats in 603 colleges in the state. Remaining 30252 seats will be filled through third round of counselling, which is also the final round of admission process,” said Indore division additional director (higher education) Prof KN Chaturvedi.
City has 32 colleges in which 53 percent seats have been filled. The remaining seats are likely to be filled in final round. The allotment letters will be issued on August 17 and students will be allowed to report to colleges and submit fee till August 21.
75% seats vacant in MEd course
Besides BEd, the DHE also released merit list for seven other teacher education programmes including MEd course. As per records, nearly 75 percent seats are still lying vacant in MEd course after two rounds of counselling. MEd course contains total 3200 seats in 63 colleges of which merely 807 has been filled so far.
For remaining 2463 seats, merit list of 1294 students have been released. That means seats in MEd will not be filled fully. In courses including BPEd, MPEd and others also, the seats may remain vacant even after final round of counselling.
