The Krishna district police have procured four speed guns to keep a check on over-speeding vehicles on national highways.
Krishna District Superintendent of Police Sarvasresth Tripathy said the guns had been set up on strategic spots on the Vijayawada-Hyderabad highway and at the Hanuman Junction, the Krishna-West Godavari districts border.
The gun would help register vehicles within a kilometre. Notices would be served on violators, who will have to pay a fine. Police would act stringently in case of repeated violations.
