Women honoured for excellence in city

It was like a dream come true for many unknown and unsung women and their daughters as they walked on the ramp in the presence of celebrity guests and hosts.

For Hema and  Shefali Udgata, the mother and daughter duo, it was in the cloud nine as they presented themselves before the jury. Similar was the experience for Swapna Parish and Naina Parikh, Sampurna Das and Sabina Das etc.

The occasion was the Matrutwa -an event dedicated to mothers and daughters of  the world, which was  being organised here in Bhubaneswar for the first time.

The event was also a tribute to the women entrepreneurs who despite all odds have excelled in their fields.

Though it was not a star studded event but the presence of Bollywood celebrities like Bipasha Basu ,veteran artist Sushma Sheath ,Dibya Sheth Shaha,GauriSwawant and Lakshmi Narayan Tripathy added colour to the celebration and they gave away awards to professionals in various fields  in the category of fashion designing, interior designing, jewellery designing, Debi writers, builders, artists, makeup artists, etc.
