The upcoming project will be carried on in association with the state government and none other than Bengal CM Ms. Mamata Banerjee had personally requested the religious order to do so when she visited Mayapur in February of this year.
The CM held separate talks with Alfred Ford, a scion of the Ford family and an ardent devotee of ISKCON to help start the tourism hub. Ford has agreed to invest Rs. 200 crore for bringing the project to life. The ISKCON officials and tourism department officials had a discussion on this matter and the clearance for the project would be given soon.
