Anandiben Patel to take oath as Chhattisgarh Governor today

President Ram Nath Kovind on Tuesday gave Madhya Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel additional charge of Chhattisgarh, following the demise of Balramji Dass Tandon, a Rashtrapati Bhavan spokesperson earlier said.

Madhya Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel will take additional charge of Chhattisgarh following the death of Governor Balramji Dass Tandon on Tuesday, a senior official said.

Patel will take oath of the office in a simple function in Raj Bhavan in Raipur at 11:45am, additional director of state’s public relations department Swaraj Das told PTI.

She will be administered oath by Justice Ajay Kumar Tripathi, Chief Justice of Chhattisgarh high court, Das said, adding that chief minister Raman Singh would be present on the occasion.

Tandon (90) died at the government-run Dr B R Ambedkar Memorial Hospital in Raipur today after suffering a heart attack.
