Latest patent details Samsung's in-display fingerprint sensor technology for Galaxy S10

Unlike other smartphones that have a dedicated area or spot where the in-display sensors work, Samsung's patent shows the use of a much wider space to facilitate fingerprint unlocking.

The module will contain a separate processor that will be able to record different scan frequencies and may speed up the scan time. The South Korean giant will incorporate four other in-display sensors to detect the user's grip and activate the scanning area accordingly. In comparison, we have in-display sensors that are limited to a particular spot of the display.
